March brings to mind leprechauns, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and on of my favorite Earth crystals, Chrysocolla (gold glue).
The alchemy definition would be materials used for soldering gold and certain gold alloys.
As a crystalline mineral Chrysocolla, a soul supporter, brings peace and calming effects and a sense of independent strength. This crystal helps one move away from personality and connect deeply with the higher self. It lessens judgement encouraging compassion for those who create conflict in your life.
Chrysocolla is also a great energizer for the physical body.
Earth hour started in 2007 by switching off the lights as a global symbol of support for the planet and the environmental issues we face. More than 15 years later the tipping point arrived, and by 2030 the possibility of exceeding the 1.5° C limit set by the Paris Climate Agreement is a current reality in just 6 short years. It goes without saying that NOW is a critical time to make global changes supporting our home.
A few additional suggestions to spend the hour on March 23, 2024.
- During the hour look around your home and see if you have any older appliances that can be updated to a more energy efficient model.
- Check all of your devices and switch to ‘dark mode or eco mode’ for the hour to free up energy you didn’t even realize you were consuming.
- Get dirty. Plant a tree or your own vegetables.
- About 1/3 of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions is produced from our global food system. Choose foods with a low impact on the environment or purchase from companies with planet-friendly practices and cook a dish to enjoy during the hour.
- Host quiz night and during the hour see how many facts your friends and family know about our planet and the plants and animals that share our home.
